JOB TITLE: Statistical Analyst
REPORTS TO: Chief Scientific Officer
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
SALARY: Depends on Experience
BACKGROUND:
Juneau Biosciences is a genetic research company in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our clinical focus relates to women’s health and our goal is to develop molecular diagnostics and predictive tests to help improve the well-being and quality of life of women affected by Endometriosis, Preterm Labor and other similar conditions.
SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will work as part of our team developing a molecular genetic prognostic test for Endometriosis and discovering the genes and regulatory mechanisms underlying this condition. They will provide assistance in the design, development and implementation of Juneau’s diagnostic and prognostic algorithms. They will support the development and implementation of multivariate statistical approaches for the identification of disease susceptibility loci.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Performing data analysis on genotypic and phenotypic datasets.
•Producing statistical analyses and summaries and write formal statistical reports to investigators.
•Working with project team to develop and implement reusable programs, scripts, and processes.

REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
•The applicant must possess a strong background in bio-statistics with a demonstrated ability to estimate work requirements and complete work on a timely basis.
•Applicant must have strong interpersonal skills and be an effective oral and written communicator.
•The applicant must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
•A graduate degree in Statistics, Bioinformatics or Genetics, or closely related discipline.
•Past experience and demonstrated knowledge of applied biostatistics relevant to genetics.
•Experience with Genome Wide Association Analysis (GWAS).
•Experience with one or more of the following techniques: programming (C, Python, Perl, BioPerl), genome-wide association analyses (PLINK, HelixTree, JMP), relational databases, statistics (R, SAS), DNA sequencing and analysis.
